Unzipping and Zipping Files Using 7-Zip
I’m sure there are a few of you techies out there that would appreciate some frustration I’ve had with Vista. “Steve, this by far is not an endorsement of a Mac”. Recently I’ve needed to start unzipping files quite often and Vista is “supposed” to come with some ready-made tools to make it work.
Every time I try to unzip anything I get this message. “There is already a file with the same name as the folder you specified.” What a pain! I did some searching on Google and found another option.
It’s another zip program called 7-Zip that works real well. Easy download, integrates well (Just right click on a zip file and it will come up as a zip option just like the factory install), and actually works.
If you’re looking for solution for shrinking files before you send them or putting lots of different files together to send I’d recommend 7-Zip as great solution.
